The office is located in Mahim-West in Mumbai. Please refer to the ‘Contact us’ section of the website for more details.
RUR offers services of wide variety. We offer education and sensitization services to organizations such as schools, corporates, societies, etc. We also offer services such as waste audit and solid waste management solutions. Do check our other services.
The major products sold by RUR are modern, patented, aerobic bio composters. These bio composters help to manage your wet, kitchen waste by transforming it into nutrient rich compost. These bio composters come in various sizes and can manage from 1kg daily to 500kg daily.
We would be happy to have a green soul onboard. You could hover over the ‘contact us’ sectionà click on volunteer tab and just fill the form. Once you submit it, we will handle the rest.
RUR does various events and workshops. Simply send us an enquiry on our email and we will keep you updated. Also, do follow our social media handles and the event calendar
Composting is a biological process in which micro-organisms, mainly bacterias and fungi convert organic matter into compost. This natural process of complex organic matter breaking down into simpler elements is called decomposition. This process results in formation of a dark earthy nutrient rich product that is high in carbon and nitrogen, this is called ‘Green Gold compost’. RUR replicates nature’s way of composting with their innovative Green Gold Bio Composters.
All the kitchen wet waste (vegetables, fruit peels, egg shells, left over food, meat carcass, fish bones etc) can go in the composter along with dry leaves/ saw dust for moisture control. Paper is not recommended as it has chemical coatings to make it look white.
We can keep adding waste in combination with dry leaves/ sawdust for a month or till the composter is full. It is then kept on hold for a week, and then removed outside the tumbler for a week for ‘curing’ process. Once cured, the compost is ready.
Around 15% to 20% of the total wet waste added in to the systems. E.g. : If we add 1000 kg of waste in total for a month, we will get around 150-200kg of compost at the end of the cycle.
Compost tea is the leachate produced from the wet waste. It is the residual water from the waste that gets collected after opening the drain valve.
The amount of Leachate generated, depend on the water content in the wet waste. For a cup full of leachate generated, fill the can with water to dilute the leachate. This diluted mixture is an excellent growth booster for your plants and a natural fungicide.
No. The process is totally natural. To make the process efficient, we can add Amrut Jal which is a mixture of cow dung, cow urine, and jaggery. The micro-organisms are generated in the tumbler itself after adding the above.
Yes. Follows natural composting process without the aid of lab made additives. We do have a certificate of appreciation received from the BMC Ward Officers for the same
If the compost pile is balanced well there are no issues in monsoon. However, the cycle time tends to be comparatively longer than usual during monsoon. This can be tackled by adequate balancing and having a buffer system.
Our waste comprises of 3 components:
1. Biodegradable waste – All edible and kitchen waste: leftover food, peels of fruits and vegetables, egg shells, flowers, coffee powder, tea leaves, fish and meat bones, jute articles, coconut husk.
2. Non-degradable waste – This consists of glass, metal item, paper, aluminium foil, cardboard, silicone, plastics, rubber, sponge, toys, E -waste (casettes, CDs, pendives, hard disks, earphones and all electrical appliances.)
There is also a third part of waste , which can’t be composted or recycled and must be given away to the municipal van for safe and scientific disposal.
3. Trash – Any single use articles like Multi layered packaging (any kind of sachets, chips packets), sanitary napkins, condoms, used tissue papers, medical waste, soiled take away containers etc.
We advocate that efforts should not be limited to 3-bin approach, but to adopt a 7/10 bin waste segregation approach at source.
The compost generated is 100% organic, you may use it to boost the soil health of your garden plants or even make a terrace garden and grow your own vegetables and herbs in it.
We don’t have buy back policy. Although we help you facilitate a sale if an excess compost is available with a suitable client. The rate at which the compost is to be sold can be decided as per the market rate at that point.
Yes, the compost generated in RGGC adheres to the FCO norms.
Yes, we have tested the compost generated in RGGC for the organic, macro/micro nutrient contents. We always recommend our client to undergo these testing so that there is a scientific proof to support the natural system of effective composting.
