Bio-composting is the biological aerobic decomposition of organic material into simpler compounds, yielding a dark, earthy, nutrient-rich humus. Simply put, bio-composting is nature’s way of recycling. Each of us consumes food, producing biodegradable kitchen waste like fruits and vegetable peels, tea leaves, egg shells, meat and fishbones. These can easily be composted instead of being sent to the landfills.
Process: “Bio-composting is a natural and eco-friendly process. RUR’s innovative, patent filed, in-vessel technology ‘GreenGold Aerobic Bio-Composter’ (RGGC) makes composting your kitchen and garden waste very easy. We work out a system based on the project site, offer training & guidance and provide AMC for the RGGC system. Find out more about bio-composting with us and take your first green step – buy a composter!
Outcome: Nutrient rich compost is generated within 6 weeks of bio-composting that can be used to maintain a home grown vegetable, herb and landscape garden
RUR GreenGold Bio-Composters (RGGC)
Innovative patented in-vessel technology makes composting simple and effective. (RGGC Patent filed No – 201621007373)
Aerobic bio-composting in RGGC is easy, odor free, hygienic and safe.
Scalable technology with 6 models to choose from, can help recycle wet waste between 0.5kg to over 500kg per day in-situ.
GREENPRO Certified by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
Internationally recognized by Solid waste association of North America (SWANA) for its decentralized and sustainable technology.

Bio Composting – Learn more
Why should you do composting?
Conserve landfill space (approximately 55-60% of the waste stream is organic matter)
Reduce the production of toxic leachate and GHGs.
Reduce carbon foot-print involved in transportation and cost spent in the same.
Improve the physical structure of soil,
Increase water holding capacity of soil.
Enrich soil with micro-organisms and required nutrients, thus reducing dependency on chemical fertilizers.
Promote green cover and land remediation, thereby mitigating global warming and climate change.
Promote food security through the cultivation of seasonal food, organic fruits, herbs and vegetables from the compost produced.
How does RGGC (RUR’s GreenGold Bio-Composter) work?
RGGC ensures balance of key composting elements i.e Air, Temperature and Moisture. These elements make aerobic composting safe and efficient. Therefore, the Green Gold Bio-composters are placed in a ventilated space, like the parking or terrace.
Select your RGGC system for bio-composting
Here’s what you need to implement a sustainable, holistic and decentralized waste management system in your premise. Our design philosophy is to connect to nature and learn its method of composting.
Just like in a forest, where leaves and fruits fall into the soil and degenerate, RUR aims to use RGGC technology to bring the power of nature in your home, society, school, office or institution and transform bio-degradable and horticultural waste into nutrient rich compost.
Being rich, natural, organic, and precious, the compost created in RGGC is fondly called ‘GreenGold’.
What all can be added to your RGGC composter?
All biodegradable kitchen waste like fruits and vegetable peels, tea leaves, egg shells, meat, fish bones as well as cooked food can be added to RGGC for composting.
What happens in a bio-composting cycle inside RGGC ?
Bio-Composting cycle goes through 3 stages as below:
1. Active: Initial Breakdown
2. Cooking: Decomposition and Self- sanitation
3. Curing: Resting Phase before Compost is ready
How long does it take to make the compost?
Composting in RGGC is completely natural and thus requires 4-6 weeks to generate organic compost that meets FCO guidelines.
Shredding the horticultural waste will aid faster breakdown and better moisture control , thus facilitating the composting process. Check one of our lab test on a compost sample.
Allied Equipment
Alongside RGGC, Allied equipment required are:
1. Shredder: For shredding horticulture waste, dry leaves and sturdy discards (corn cobs, coconut shell and husk)
2. Shed : To be installed if RGGC is kept in open space.
3. Rake, sieve, a pair of glove, sawdust(1kg), seed compost(1kg): provided as a starter kit
Many of our active sites have been practicing this and are now successfully running a self-sustaining model. You can practice this too!
