When RUR and CMCA (Childrenís Movement for Civic Awareness) joined hands, a whole new army of recyclers was born. At Campion School, my fellow CMCA volunteer, Paulami Chakraborty and I, enable children to collect used Tetra Pak cartons and take them to the nearby Sahakari Bhandar every week. In return for every 12 Tetra Pak cartons donated, we got a notebook made out of recycled Tetra Pak cartons. And when we reach our first milestone of 4500 Tetra Pak cartons we received a 100% Tetra Pak carton recycled desk-chair. Campion School in turn gifted this to a underprivileged school that it supports in Talasari (beyond Manor). So far, we have already donated four recycled desks and we are on the cusp of reaching this milestone for the fifth time!
Monisha Narke and her team (including Sejal and Malavika) have constantly kept in touch and also invite us to partner / join in during various green festivals and workshops. Kudos for the great work RUR is doing. Hereís looking forward to many more years of collaborating with you.
